WOYWW - 597 - KABOOM!
Good morning crafty friends!
Firstly I want to apologise for now visiting many on my last post, things went badly that week, so I am sorry.
For those who want to visit other desks, be sure to click here !
My desk has exploded...
See, I told you !
So I've been making a journal from scratch, its for my managers daughter. I made the binding and everything inside too. She loved it , so I am thrilled to bits. I will be spending this afternoon tidying up. The most important thing is that I have made a space for my cuppa to sit.
So I hope you are all well and staying safe in lockdown #2 for those in the area. My OH finally managed to collect our wardrobe insides from Ikea, so we will be sorting through all the clothes we own. I am working throughout lockdown as I work in an essential store. I am knackered to say the least, I hope you all are staying safe.
Thank you for spending some of your day with me!
Ellie x
Oh well done on completing that lovely album, I’m not surprised that the recipient was delighted with it. You definitely win the prize for the messiest desk this week, lol!! Enjoy having a good sort out when you’re filling the new wardrobes, I do love having a clear out, it’s very cathartic!

wooo! whats my prize? haha. my desk is tidy now, only took 20mins to sort out in the end. xx
DeleteOooh - can you treat us to a view of the finished journal? All safe and well here - keep safe yourself, working in that essential store.... blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteMorti #19
Aww i dont have a pic of the inside I'm afraid but she dropped me a box of choc in work today, so I think she likes it x
DeleteHi Ellie, oh my, that wardrobe sorting will probably be a mammoth job. Must say though, I do love our IKEA wardrobes, I usually find them more trouble than they're worth, as pretty much all the dresses I own are very long, and end up curled in the bottom. Love that IKEA have so many different heights! Well done on finishing the journal, I'm sure she'll treasure it. Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #6 X
ReplyDeleteWardrobe is all organised now, it did take aaggesss. hahah i wanted a flippin drink after haah, x
DeleteIt often takes a mess to create a masterpiece! glad you are making the best of lockdown and thank you for working through it. Americans can't seem to understand the concept of caring for eachother.

awww well sending hugs. I feel better that my desk is tidy now though x
DeleteWell done on making your journal. What kind of binding did you use? I am just about to make one for my niece and I can’t decide whether she will use it more as a jotter, which means a sewn spine or whether to do a hinge spine. Keep well Happy WOYWW Angela #29
ReplyDeleteI used a twine binding , ooo I would prob go with sewn for a jotter, like you said. Please share pics when you do it x
Deleteyour desk does look busy! I am working full time too (office work, financial services) and we are SO busy! not on the front line though so some small mercies. Take care, stay safe. Helen #4
ReplyDeleteooh take care though, I can imagine you're rushed off your feet blimey!
Deletesending hugs, you need lots of cuppas and biscuits x
Love the journal. I make such a mess when I'm creating :-) Hope you are progressing with the wardrobe sorting. Anne x 12
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, wardrobe is all done and the desk is now tidy. Came home to find my other half using my pebeo paint sat at my desk. I nearly fell off the flippin floor!! hahahah x
DeleteWell done on finishing the journal it looks like you had great fun making it by the lokks of your desk!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW, Stay Safe!
((Lyn))
I love making journals from nothing, its very rewarding. Yup my pup tried to help the tidy up after this pic, he grabbed a pot of glitter and buggered off downstairs. Needless to say , I flew down after him before he got the lid off hahahah x
DeleteI'm happy when I see an exploding desk, if there's something creative going on within it it's worth all the mess. Great that you managed to get that lovely journal finished, hope it was well received.

DeleteYou can't make beautiful art work without a bit of mess. Well that's what I tell everybody. Wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteAgreed Angela, I think I made a 'lot' of mess though hahaha. Was good fun so I dont mind hehe xx
DeleteGood luck with the wardrobe sorting Ellie. Hope you find time for a break from work soon. Sounds like it is rather full on! Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #1
ReplyDeleteYh its been so crazy lately. Hope you're okay and works not too tricky. xx
DeleteSorry I’m late Ellie. Had to enlarge your photo, just to reassure myself that I wasn’t losing it and that your cup of tea isn’t actually in the picture. Then I saw your glue bottle, looks as if it’s wearing a jacket! Well done with the album, it’s so nice when someone loves what you’ve made for them.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA yhh it was perched on the edge of the desk, just out of shot hahaha!! Yess my glue pot was boring, so I attacked it hahahah. x
DeleteHi Ellie - it does look like an explosion on your desk LOL! I can't think of many things more satisfying than making a journal from scratch - it looks lovely! I hope you got some brownie points from your boss for making it! Stay safe and thank you for your hard work during lockdown. I've worked in a shop once and I know how physically exhausting it can be being on your feet all day - try to have some rest on your days off - you've earned it! Thanks for your visit earlier! zsuzsa #21
ReplyDeleteAwww thank you. hahaha yup I completely agree, journals are so fun to make. Hahahah I had a tub of chocs given to me today so the journal went down a treat. sending hugs x
DeleteHi Ellie! First I will answer your questions. The Holly Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug. I think a friend brought it with her one day. The rustic effect on the circle, I think is just the paper! I used an inkadinkadoo stamp that I love, very old fashioned. I have discovered a lot of paper lately!
ReplyDeleteLove the exploding desk, shows you've been busy! Journals are so much fun to make! I'm going to make one for my DD's MIL. There ought to be a word for your child's in-laws...
How do your lockdowns work? No one seems to be particularly angry on your side of the pond. You seem to be taking it in your stride, accepting that you have to do what you have to do to stay safe. People are going ballistic over here just talking about it.
(we need a lockdown to get to Christmas!) Thanks for your visit, have a safe week! Lindart #31
Fab I will have a hunt for the embossing folder. thank youuu !! So this lockdown is slightly different, only essential shops and food places etc stay open. You can go shopping for food and essentials , exercise outdoors is okay too. lots of other stipulations too. I think people are fed up with it too but hoping this will be the last lockdown as we all want xmas as normal. sending hugs x
DeleteYour album is adorable, Ellie. Really pretty. Well done! As for your desk, well what can one say, lol!! (Looks just like mine does a lot of the time but at least yours was due to something constructive, whereas mine is just dumping ground stuff...)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and your kind words about my brother in law. I am delighted that you want to join in the giveaway!
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi x #23
Aww thank you so much!! haahah my desk is usually covered with something xx
DeleteWow, that's one creative desk, and the journal is beautiful - no wonder the recipient loved it. Hope you enjoy your clothes sort out - it love having a good clear out!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late getting round - it's just once of those weeks!
