Just a little thank you...

Image
Good Afternoon friends! So I have spent today making a few thank you cards for friends and family. To make the backgrounds for these cards I used my distress oxides. I applied these using  some cut and dry foam squares I cut out. The bottom image is a small tag I made by inking the background with frayed burlap, fired brick and ....something preserves haha! I stamped onto this with Momento tuxedo black ink. The 'thanks'is by your next stamp, chameleon set. The hot air balloon is by docrafts I believe.  The oxide colours I used were, fired brick, picked raspberry, abandoned coral, lucky clover, twisted citron and wild honey.  I used chameleons stamps by Your next stamp, the owl stamp is by Clarity stamp and the ivy and lanterns are by Joanna sheen. I coloured the images using my spectrum noir graphite pencils. I am loving using these, when you add water the colour pops beautifully. I glued the images using Cosmic shimmer acrylic glue on som...

A fairy field...

Image
Hello friends! Today I got crafting and making a fairy field frame. This frame was varnished when I bought it so when I painted it with black gesso, it resisted a little. I love the effect it gave though. I dried the gesso using my heat tool. I then selected some toadstools by Inkylicious and also painted them black. I wanted it to look like a silhouette. I had a little ornament fairy which would be perfect for this.I attached the fairy and toadstools using my glue gun. While this dried I started to make my magical background night sky. I used my distress oxides on some A6 cardstock. I die cut a circle from my lawn fawn stitched circle dies and inked it with the oxides again. I used this circle as my moon. For some depth I used a small toadstool stamp across the bottom of the page using versafine onyx black ink. Once the ink was dry and the moon attached I cut this down to size and assembled the frame back again. To finish off I added some nuvo glitter drops all over to...

WOYWW-442 - 22.10.17

Hello friends! Thank you to all of those who have visited me since I joined WOYWW. If you would like to join in with this lovely group of crafters, or look at some other desks, visit the hub of activity here. My desk isn't too bad this morning, last night was a different matter all together. I had paint EVERYWHERE! I don't know how but I just managed to cover myself, my clothes and the carpet...Oops! On my desk today are some bits Ive been using to make tags with. The ones in the pic aren't Christmas ones. The little jellyfish are super glittery but the camera wont pick it up. These little Jellyfish toppers will be mounted onto tag bases once I die cut them. I have been loving my tonic dies for making tags lately. They are fab! Have a fantastic day everyone! Thank you for spending some of your day with me. Crafty hugs and see you tomorrow. Ellie x

Trees and tags

Image
Evening to you all. I have been spending the evening making more batches of tags for the Craft fair in December. I am having good fun making some tags that aren't Christmas related too! This is going to be the centre point on the front of some more tags. These are the generic ones to be used year round. I used my 'wink of Stella clear glitter pen on top of the jellyfish image. It's so sparkly but I don't think the camera has really picked it up. Everyone needs a glitter pen like this, I love mine. The stamp set used on this centre piece is 'so jelly by lawn fawn and 'tiny sayings ' by Lawn fawn also. Such cute little sets. Yesterday I recieved my order from Anna Marie designs. This was my trees to finish off my advent calendar. So I have painted them with green acrylic paint. This step was incredibly messy, I don't know how but I ended out with paint on my neck, face and clothes. Once painted and dry, I applied Super thick slap it on ( Indigoblu)...

Playing with oxides.

Image
Hello hello! Here we are again, today's offering is very different from  yesterday. I made this journal page with nothing in mind, I just went with it . To start I used 2 distress oxide colours on my cardstock. I smear them one by one onto my glass Mat and spray with water. Then I take my page to the wet ink. This makes a more splattered effect and the distress oxide layers so well. I dried my page after each layer of colour.  Remember to dry inbetween to avoid making mud on your page.  Keep adding layers until you are happy with the saturation of colour.  Next I found some alphabet stickers and made the word 'deep'. I covered this word using the distress oxides in the orange and blue again, this ensures everything ties in together. I used some of my beautiful 'Visible image stamps. I stamped the seaweed with versafine bl ack ink and covered it with chocolate coloured 'wow 'embossing powder. The 'beauty' is also part of   sentime...
