Halloween series #3 - No Halloween stamps

Image
Hello friends, I hope you are all having a good Thursday!! So I've finally got round to making a card, using the background from the previous blog post. First I grabbed the Lawn Fawn Baah Humbug stamp set, I selected the standing sheep stamp. I stamped it using Archival Jet black ink and coloured three sheep. Also from that set I used the bow stamp twice and coloured both purple. All colouring I did for these card, I used my Kuretake clean colour - real brush markers. Since I don't own any Halloween stamps, I had a rummage in my collection. I found an adorable stamp set by Heffy Doodle called Lucky friends, in this set is a pot of gold. I thought this would make a perfect cauldron, again I stamped two and coloured with my markers. After colouring and fussy cutting my images I glued a black card stock piece to cover the card base. Then I sliced my patterned background in half, I ensured each piece had a small border of the black card showing. I adhered all the card stock and i...

A fairy field...

Image
Hello friends! Today I got crafting and making a fairy field frame. This frame was varnished when I bought it so when I painted it with black gesso, it resisted a little. I love the effect it gave though. I dried the gesso using my heat tool. I then selected some toadstools by Inkylicious and also painted them black. I wanted it to look like a silhouette. I had a little ornament fairy which would be perfect for this.I attached the fairy and toadstools using my glue gun. While this dried I started to make my magical background night sky. I used my distress oxides on some A6 cardstock. I die cut a circle from my lawn fawn stitched circle dies and inked it with the oxides again. I used this circle as my moon. For some depth I used a small toadstool stamp across the bottom of the page using versafine onyx black ink. Once the ink was dry and the moon attached I cut this down to size and assembled the frame back again. To finish off I added some nuvo glitter drops all over to...

Mop up pages and left overs

Image
Hello ! I hope you are all having a good Friday. I am very pleased to say the advent drawers are finished, the numbers are on and I am very happy with them. I started to decorate inside the little display section today. I used white gesso with a little water and flicked it on using a paint brush. I am now waiting on my mdf arrivals to make the scene with.   Those of you that saw Wednesdays blog, I made two texture paste toppers, while doing this I had some left over paste so instead of wasting it, I spread it onto a scrap of card using a stencil. Looking at this mop up sheet today I decided on attempting to turn it into a card using autumn colours. So I cut it down to a topper size so the edges look tidy.  I have included a close up of the mop up sheet as the shimmer is gorgeous! So to get started I had a rummage through my dies and selected a couple. All of which are tonic. The deco edges square in the centre and the small sentiment is from To...
