WOYWW 592
Good Morning Friends
Happy WOYWW!
So today, my desk is a tad empty. Yesterday there was no room to move as I had finished the advent swap envelopes.
So I had a trip to Bristol so popped into Hobbycraft to grab a few things, one being this pack on pretty coloured cardstock. I have also been playing with some more acrylic pouring, this was a dirty pour using the left over paint I had from making a gift. I use the spotty paper cups to pour the paint.
I just wanted to apologise that I do take a few days to catch up, on reading your lovely blogs. I hope you don't mind as I like to relax with a cuppa and have a read of a few each day. Speaking of a cuppa I am enjoying a coffee right now, ready to start the day.
If you want to join in with this desk madness, head over too The Stamping Ground!
Thank you for spending some of your day with me.
Ellie x
That acrylic pouring was very successful, though the fact you call it a dirty pouring made me hoot! I understand what you mean, it just tickled me :-). The new papers look great, hope you enjoy playing with them. My nearest Hobbycraft is in a lockdown area so I shan't be visiting for a whil, sigh....

Aww nooo Jan! you will have withdrawal symptoms hahah xxx
DeleteI bought re-usable cups to take to the coffee shop but with the current Covid business we cannot use them. As a consequence we are collecting lots of takeaway coffee cups - these are very useful for pouring! And also for mixing fibre glass which my husband was doing!
ReplyDeleteNice pour!
Happy woyww! Susan #7
Ohhhh thats really handy, you can make use of them. Thank you! I'd love to see some of your pours too xxx
DeleteHi Ellie, we used to live near Bristol but moved to the West Midlands a few years ago - I'm intimately acquainted with HobbyCraft at Cribbs if that's where you went to. No HobbyCrafts near me now, but I can order online. Love your pour - I find if I start I have to do several canvases, otherwise it's not worth making a mess - but it's also so addictive! One of these days I'll get back into it! Have a creative week! xx zsuzsa #22
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, I have to do several otherwise I feel like I'm going to waste product. Ohh please do show me some of the pours you have done xxx
DeleteHi Ellie. I don't mind at all that you spread out your visits - helps the week go by nicely to suddenly find I have yet another comment to read:-)BTW - there is nothing "dirty" about that poured image. It's glorious. Really must try it one day...
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.
Margaret #3
Yes you must give it a go! It's very messy but lots of fun to get stuck in. xxx
DeleteAnother acrylic pour! that's two today, gorgeous too. It really doesn't matter how long it takes for you to visit, better late than never as they say. I do buy things from Hobbycraft and have always been quite pleased with their card. We do have one here now but hardly been to it this year well not at all actually but then I've hardly been to any shops apart from the Supermarket can't think why! Have a lovely week and a very happy and safe woyww, Angela x16x .
ReplyDeleteOh that is odd that you haven't been shopping....must be something strange going on hahah. Yes I do thoroughly enjoy a Hobbycraft visit too. xxxx
DeleteHi Ellie, love the pour, really must get round to this, as I have a drawer full of acrylic paints! We also have a Hobbycrafts not too far from us, the cardstock looks like a great buy, They do have some good bargains occasionally. I'd just be happier if they stocked more stamps from British manufacturers. Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X
ReplyDeleteYESSS I totally agree about the British stamp companies, there are plenty for them to choose from! A drawer of acrylic paint sounds like a pouring afternoon to me Shaz xxx
DeleteEllie, LOVE your pour! Those colors are gorgeous! You take all the time you need, ESPECIALLY if its with a cuppa!!! The ONLY way! LOL Blessings for the rest of your week! Felicia, #27
ReplyDeleteAwww thank you Felicia!! Yes I love a hot drink, especially coming into Autumn. xxx
DeleteHi Ellie, great pour. Hobby craft is a too far for a quick pop in, but we have The Range which I think is actually better sometimes. I usually order online for Hobbycraft. Angela #25
ReplyDeleteOHHH I love 'The Range' ! wish I had one close to me. They do stock some lovely things xxx
DeleteThe acrylic pour looks great Ellie. We were in Bristol for a day over the summer. It is a lovely city. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! We really are in need of a catch up xx
DeleteLove your acrylic pour, the pinks are so vibrant. Those paper packs from Hobbycraft are good quality, great colours and good value too. I rarely get around to everyone on Wednesday, sometimes t's good to take your time. Happy WOYWW, stay well stay safe, Cindy #13 xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy! Yes I like to check in on comments and posts etc through the week, it lasts longer that way xxx
DeleteLove your acrylic pour, theirs romance within those colours. Don't ever worry about getting to me asap Ellie I'm the very same I like to take time and read just as each blogger has taken time to compose and share their blog. Wishing you well this WoywW Tracey #6
ReplyDeleteThank you Tracey! xxx
DeleteHi! Acrylic pouring sounds and looks like fun ~ My daughter did it once at an art fair and really enjoyed it. Enjoy your new supplies and the rest of your week ~ Love, Karen#33
ReplyDeleteIt really is good messy fun, give it a try if you get a chance. xxx
DeleteHi Ellie! I am exactly the same way. I don't like to rush through and visit all the blogs on Wednesday. I like to visit a few each day but I do it with a cup of tea! So no worries. This is the second time I have heard of pouring. I never heard of the technique before but am very intrigued as the results are beautiful. Have a lovely week and I hope you can fit me in your visits this week.
ReplyDeleteBelinda #30
Heeey Belinda!
DeleteSome of the results people have are stunning, sometimes they do it on glass and furniture. I am not quite that advanced haaha. xxx
I love seeing the poured paint projects! They're so gorgeous! Your shades of red is fabulous! I'm still working my way through blogs. Thanks for popping by and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCarol N #24
Aww that's sweet of you to say , thank you. xxx
DeleteYour poured canvas is beautiful - I love the colours, and I hope you enjoy your new stash from Hobbycraft. Like you I usually take two or three days to get round, but it's nice to take time and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week,
Diana x #14
I totally agree Diana! I need to stop pouring and focus on Christmas crafts now. xxx
DeleteLove the acrylic pour. not something I have tried but sure would like to one day, hope you found something mice in Hobbycraft,
ReplyDeleteLilian B # 9
Yes I managed to get a lovely Christmas stamp set. I spotted it online prior to my visit there and luckily they had it in stock. Yes if you get the chance, certainly give acrylic pouring a go. xxx
DeleteI have to spread my visits too Ellie, here I am on Saturday night living my rock n roll life! I wonder if you found Zsazsu’s blog yet, you pourers will like it. I must say that the pink dirty pour is quite lovely, I imagine a dirty pour as a sludge coloured mud pattern!!
ReplyDeleteI love the acrylic pouring, Ellie! Maybe one day I shall be brave enough to try it... Like you, I like to go through the WOYWW blogs a few at a time, because there are so many that I can't do them all at once. There are always so many other things demanding my attention and I'd rather spend quality time doing them than trying to rush through them. I also really like getting comments throughout the week rather than all in a rush! That way the whole WOYWW experience is ongoing, rather than just one day a week!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit, and I hope your eyes have recovered after looking at my lamp haha! It really is extremely bright... So glad you are enjoying the tiny carpets project. Last night I completed the first two needle books and I will be blogging about them this week.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #18
