Natures Textures Hexagon - 2 Cards

 Hello Papercrafters,

I recently went to the Stamperama in Bridgwater, which is a show filled with stamp vendors. I bought lots of lovely things that I will show in another blog post.

One of the products I purchased was a stamp and stencil set by Angela Poole. It includes 2 stencils and a stamp set with a very arty style. For these two cards I used both stencils and lots of the stamps.

Products:

Angela Poole Natures Textures Hexagon Set

Concord & 9th Paradise Dies

Ranger Distress Matte Collage Paste

Ranger Distress Oxide Inks : Wild Honey & Ground Espresso

Versafine Claire Nocturne Ink

Vintage Handwriting Paper

Process:

I started this card by just having a play on an a4 piece of thin white cardstock. I used both stencils with Distress Oxide ink in both Wild Honey and Ground Espresso. I applied the ink using a small finger dauber. I moved the stencils around to get a random effect across the page.

Then I opened up the stamps, I selected a few of the small flowers and ink splatter stamps. I used the black versafine claire and also some oxide ink to stamp these. Again with the stamps, letting them go off the edge of the page, lots of random placement. I repeated this step with the text hexagon stamp and the circle frame stamp. I just had fun building up layers of stamping. The dotted line stamp was fun to use, bending it into a wavy line, then stamping.

Next was time to get the collage medium out! First I pressed my wild honey oxide ink pad onto my glass mat. Next I scooped some medium onto the ink spot, it was then time to mix them. Make sure the ink is evenly spread into the collage medium. I applied this through the grid type stencil in small areas across the page. Leave to dry.

Once everything was fully dry, I chopped the page down into two smaller panels. I whipped out some vintage effect papers I have, then inked the edges of each. One in Wild Honey and one in Ground Espresso, this helps tie all the elements together. I glued the texture panels onto the inked backing, then layered these onto white card bases.

Sentiment time.... I selected the two small sentiments and stamped each once. Then inked each, like with the backing papers. I die cut the sentiments using Concord & 9th dies before popping them up on foam tape. Adhere the sentiments and we are done! I chose to add some glitter spray across the cards but of course you dont have to do that.

I really like the result of these cards, they started out as messing around on some cardstock with something new I purchased. Having a play with your products can make wonderful results.

Thank you for visiting my little crafty space!
